| A very close friend of mine was recently called by by his former girl friend and told that he recently became the father of a new born. As this girl misunderstood that the baby was another person’s she never let my friend informed that she had conceived. It was just recently that she understood her mistake and informed him when the child was just born. Now she wants my friend to sign the birth certificate and she specifically says that she does not want any child support. She just wants his name on the baby’s birh certificate. The problem is that he does not want to sign the birth certificate as he is married now and has just become a father. Should he put his signature on the document? Will this create problems in future? |
Anonymous CommenterHe should first do a DNA test before he signs any document. A legal DNA test will clear his doubt and determine whether he is the father or not and this is the only thing that will be valid in court. For getting a legal DNA test done, each person involved will have to visit the collection centre and a specialist will collect the specimen samples and have it sent to the lab to get it tested. The result will be sent to the concerned people and this kind of testing that will be valid in court. The laws in each state are different in each state and so I am not very certain what are the nuances that will come by if he signs the document. So it will be ideal if you consult a local lawyer who deals in such cases to get the correct facts.
