| Is a private paternity test reliable? As far as I know they send you the dna test kit at home with the instructions and then you return the samples on the post. I am not sure whether the test will be accurate enough if the samples get somehow damaged along the way. I am also told by my friend that the private paternity test cannot be used for legal purposes. Even if the test is positive, but the dad does not want to claim the baby then the private test cannot help you get child support payments. I think the whole business is tricky.
